Received this message and I'm not familiar with any pattern that would be exactly
like the one Nikki is referring to. Anyone have any help/suggestions for her?

Recently I saw a beautiful origami piece. it was a small square 'container' that
sat flat on the front of a handmade card. As you lift the side flaps, the
'container' sits up with 4 sides where you can put little bits of confetti or
similar. The little container can open and close to seal in whatever you have put
in there, and will go flat so that it can slide into an envelope. I have searcher
high and low for something similar to this - checked all the 'best' sites - but
alas no luck because I don't know what it is called!! Can you help me me at all??

It is sort of like a box with a bottom and 4 sides but no top, and it closes down
so that two of the sides become the top and the whole thing is flat.

Please, any help at all would be so appreciated.
Nikki

Greetings!

I wanted to let you all know that I finally got around to updating the Origamic
Architecture section of my site. I am hoping everyone will find the new structure
a lot more usable.

I also added some new things. The Gallery page has new images of my 1999 "O-Deer"
holiday card and a 180-degree pop-up lotus card I did back when I first discovered
OA. There is a Pattern page, now, with patterns for my Evermon and O-Deer cards.

There is a page about the maillist. Note that there is a new address for the list
and for subscriptions. The old address will still work but, you should use the new
one, if possible. All of the list archives are available through the links at the
bottom of that page (except for the last few messages - they are going into the
next archive, which is being generated automatically by the new maillist software.)

A new forwarding hostname has been configured to make the OA section easier to
remember and link:

Please let me know if you have any trouble with it or if you have suggestions.

2000 Objects for the New Millennium Exhition (http://www.gallery91.com/2000paper.html)

Hi, I just found out about this exhibit in New York City and I thought you
folks might be interested in seeing the background info on it and in
attending if you live near NYC. Apparently some of Masahiro Chatani's cards
(I think from his personal collection, the ones with the architects'
autographs) will be included in the display.

Some of you may recall that Gallery 91 is the location of at least one of
Masahiro Chatani's shows in the US. I only wish I had heard of OA at that
time -- I could have met him!

I am planning to attend in the next couple of weeks. I will try to take
photos if they allow it and hopefully share them with you.

Selena
