Arizona Opera has a variety of volunteer opportunities for people who want to become more involved with the inner workings of the company. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Deborah Glaser in Phoenix and Rick Sprague in Tucson.

Opera Shop

Volunteers operate our souvenir boutique in the lobby during intermissions. These volunteers help set up and stock the boutique as well as sell t-shirts, cds, posters etc to patrons looking for that special memento of their night at the opera.

Supernumeraries

This group of volunteers are the "extras" on stage, from spear-carriers and peasants to aristocrats at lavish parties. Requires attending rehearsals and costume fittings in Tucson, as well as being on stage for all performances in both Phoenix and Tucson.

Ushers (Tucson)

We are looking for hardworking and courteous individuals to usher our performances. This includes handing out programs, directing patrons to their correct seats, as well as maintaining the safety and environment for the performances.

Administration

Our hard working office staff can always use assistance in the many areas of running the opera. These areas include filing, assisting box office, mailings, distributing posters, helping with research and surveys etc. We also are always looking for professionals who are willing to offer their special areas of expertise to help the opera.

Hospitality

These volunteers assist staff during events and performances to answer questions as well as act as hosts at receptions.

Arizona Opera Leagues of Phoenix & Tucson

These groups hold various fund-raising and educational events each year including Opera Preview Parties, The Annual Arizona Opera Ball, the Home Tour and Fashion for the Arts.
