Arizona Opera to participate in ARTNET

Arizona Opera will participate in the second annual Cultural Showcase at the Plaza Palomino on October 8, 1997. This event is entitled The Sights, Sounds and Flavors of the Southwest and will feature performances, exhibits, demonstrations by Tucson's performing arts groups. Some of the many organizations participating are Arizona Opera, Arizona Theatre Company, Tucson Children's Museum and the Tucson Symphony.

The Showcase, co-sponsored by ARTNET and the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce was created to inform and encourage collaboration between arts and business and to provide information about local arts and cultural activities. ARTNET is a coalition of activists committed to promoting the integration of art into the community with a strong focus on youth. All proceeds from this event will be earmarked for the educational initiatives of the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.
